“I think he wins”- Curtis Blaydes bills Francis Ngannou for success inside the squared circle

Francis Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes

Curtis Blaydes is currently ranked fourth at Heavyweight. Blaydes talked about his career with MMA reporter Ariel Helwani and commented on how current Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou would fare in the boxing scene.

Who Curtis will fight when he gets the title shot after a win against a big name like Chris isn’t clear as current champion Francis Ngannou hasn’t renewed his UFC contract yet. Ngannou wants boxing to be a part of the contract in some manner which has led to him being on the last fight of his contract with no assurances that he won’t be a free agent soon.

When asked about the Ngannou situation Blaydes said that if it were him in that situation he would definitely go box. Heavyweight boxers make a lot more money than MMA fighters so it isn’t a tough choice. Dillian Whyte is reportedly going to make 8 million for his title bout against Tyson Fury, money that’s unthinkable at the UFC.

Blaydes believes that Ngannou could make a lot of money fighting someone like Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury so why not switch sports. Ngannou ought to wait for his knee to heal and leave.

Blaydes is coming off a dominant victory over Chris Daukaus, finishing Daukaus with strikes in the second round. It’s his second win in a row after he followed his loss against Derrick Lewis with a win against Rozenstruik.

He talked about his fight against Lewis with Helwani saying he rushed the takedown in the second round due to his wrestler’s mentality back then. This win puts him right back in title contention at heavyweight and he now looks for a fight against Ciryl Gane or Stipe Miocic as a win over either would lead to the belt.
