Dan Hooker and his team at the City Kickboxing gym suffered a huge loss as they lost a dear friend in Fau Vake to murder, last year. The teammate was assaulted in Auckland and the sentence for the assaulter was recently announced.

Dan Hooker, who has been very vocal along with other members of his gym about this case took it to the internet to reveal that justice did not prevail in the case of his friend Fau Vake. According to NZ Herald, the accuser has been sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for manslaughter. Hooker was never happy about this judgment and tweeted out his thoughts after attending the court session.

The fighter explained to the fans previously that the only reason the person who committed the assault was even given a sentence to jail is because of the attention City Kickboxing members created with the help of media. Hooker also revealed that the judges considered reducing the sentence given that Vake died with only one punch.

“The judge didn’t make a mistake. This is the punishment for the crime in New Zealand. A judge can only hand down the punishment laid out by previous cases. Kill someone with a coward punch and two years in prison. Or worse home detention, for murder,” wrote Dan in one of his latest tweets.

The fighter followed the tweet by slamming the NZ legal system for giving the lightest sentence to the murderer of his friend. “Lightest sentence for murder IN THE WORLD.”

Dan is coming off a loss against Arnold Allen at UFC London. The fighter recently moved down to the featherweight division after a bad run at the lightweight division.
