Dan Hooker is desperate to fight at UFC 266. The fighter has not been inside the octagon since UFC 257 and he believes a fight with Nate Diaz or Tony Ferguson would interest him.

Lightweight fighter Dan Hooker has been trying to get back into the octagon since his skid against Michael Chandler at UFC 257. The fighter has not fought since and has been requesting his matchmakers to hook him up. Now that he could not get on the UFC 263 card, Dan is looking to squeeze in the UFC 266 card where he would like to fight either El Cucuy or Nate Diaz. In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, he spoke about his fight interests.

“Definitely, that fight has my interest,” Hooker on fighting Nate. “I had just seen the video of him saying he wants to get back in there in three or four months, and if you want to fight put your hand up, and that’s something I’m quite well known for – is putting my hands up for fights and taking opportunities and not staying silent in moments like that. I’m not afraid to ask for things that I want. I just see a good fight. I just feel I’ll bring the kind of fight that would do a Diaz brother justice, and it works in the timeline.”

Hooker is really excited to fight in three or four months. He believes a fight against El Cucuy, who recently lost to Beneil Dariush at UFC 262 would be a thriller. “That’s just a fight that gets me excited, and that’s what the fans want to see,” Hooker said. “They want to see you in fights that you’re excited to be in. That Ferguson-Hooker fight, I feel like that’s a bloodbath. I feel like that’s an absolute war, and that’s a fight that definitely gets me up and gets me excited – so it’s on my list.”

Hooker has been through a lot since his loss to Chandler at UFC 257. The fighter faced defeat via TKO in the first round. He also faced a tough time meeting his family after the fight on account of COVID protocols. Dan climbed to the top 10 lightweight rankings but hasn’t been able to perform since as he is on a two-fight losing streak.
