The number 10th ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Khamzat Chimaev quickly turned into the surging contenders of the Welterweight division with his dominating win over Li Jingliang at UFC 267. With this win, Chimaev improved his MMA record to 10-0, which too by winning all the fights by finishes.
Khamzat Chimaev has been calling out almost every big name in UFC to face him next after securing a win at UFC 267. The list of call-outs includes Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz, Gilbert Burns, and even Brock Lesnar, Conor McGregor, and Daniel Cormier.
Chimaev kept his hype train going along with his dominating win over Jingliang and the UFC president Dana White is all aboard on this hype train. In his latest interview with Jim Rome, White couldn’t hide his excitement while talking about the ‘Borz’, Dana White says,
“Khamzat Chimaev is one of the baddest dudes that I’ve ever come across and is literally willing to fight anyone and doesn’t care what the timeframe is or any of that stuff, He’s one of the baddest dudes that I’ve ever come across.”
Dana White reveals it got really difficult for him to find an opponent for Khamzat Chimaev
The UFC president Dana White further revealed that the promotion is having an opponent for Chimaev lined up next and they will be announcing this fight most probably this week. But he also admitted that it got really difficult for him to find an opponent for Khamzat Chimaev.
White added, “Nobody wants to fight this guy, Everybody wants to get out on social media and say this or say that. But when it really comes down to it, nobody’s trying to fight Khamzat Chimaev. I don’t blame them.”
“But at the end of the day when you’re a professional fighter – this is what you do – you should look at a guy with as much hype and as much bravado as Chimaev has, as a huge opportunity. Yes, 100 percent guys are afraid of him.”
