UFC will kick off its first Pay-per-view event this Saturday on January 22 with UFC 270. The PPV event will take place inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The main event for the night will be the much-awaited heavyweight bout between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane.

After winning the heavyweight title from Stipe Miocic last year, Ngannou will defend this belt for the first time. Gane, on the other hand, has gone through the whole heavyweight division undefeated to fight for the title. The fight is much more than just a title fight, the animosity and bad blood between these fighters have created a massive buzz around the fight. Ngannou and Gane come from the same training camp and have shared the same room in the past. But with time, both started to fall apart and now it has turned into a vicious rivalry.

As anybody could have guessed, the press conferences before the fight have been in constant heat. Both the fighters are not losing any opportunity to put shade on each other and get a mental advantage over the other. In a recent interview with Megan Olive, Ngannou revealed that he doesn’t accept the legitimacy of the Interim title that Gane holds. As we enter the last week before the fight, heated conversations like this are going to happen more often.

In the recent UFC post-fight press conference of UFC fight night: Kattar vs Chikadze, President Dana White was asked about how he feels and ranks the upcoming heavyweight fight between Ngannou and Gane. While answering the question, White explained that the fight is very huge in comparison to the other heavyweight bouts in UFC history and the hype around it is unreal. “This is one of the biggest ever,” said White.

After that white described that the narrative of the fight and both the fighters is very original and strong and this helps in creating engagement among the fans. Both were roommates and trained together. Now they don’t like each other. According to Dana White, stylistically also the fight brings a lot to the table. One has the most brutal one-punch power and the other is undoubtedly the best striker in UFC heavyweight history. “You couldn’t have a better storyline, you couldn’t have a better stylistic match-up,” said Dana White.
