On his show titled Debate DC, Daniel Cormier goes against fans’ opinions and debates them on various things associated with MMA. Here, Cormier meets a similar situation when a fan thinks that UFC’s Kamaru Usman‘s achievements as a welterweight champion so far are overrated and too behind to be surpassing the welterweight great Georges St. Pierre‘s legacy.
Now, he retweets this clip from the Twitter of Vover, a platform from where Cormier and the fans connect for the debate, where Cormier can be seen telling the respective fan about Usman‘s dominance. “His [Usman’s] dominance has led to his rematches,” he said, “Not only he has beaten these guys, but he beat the second time more impressively.”
“The reason he is starting to put together a resume that is the greatest of all time is because of how good Colby Covington is, I believe Colby Covington, beats about anybody in the welterweight history. I think you’re underestimating the resume he is putting on the paper because he is making it look easy Sal [the fan]. Dominance leads to a lot of rematches, that’s why guys like Jon Jones, the guy I despise, was fighting me again because I was so good that I will beat everybody else until we fought again.”
On the retweet, Cormier captioned “Sal thought he was ready but I got him and my arguments are the best. I’m even willing to use my losses as a way to prove the point. These guys have been dominant and @USMAN84kg [Kamaru Usman’s Twitter] is no different. Check out the episode and who’s next?”
What do you think of “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman’s legacy as the reigning defending UFC Welterweight Champion, 5 title defences and at the top of the UFC’s pound for pound list? Usman has got to keep going in numbers in order to surpass the highest number of title defences as the great George St. Pierre has it 9 consecutive title defences and in total has been in 12 championship fights of his career. For the current roster, Usman definitely is the most decorated fighter in the UFC or most probably in the world.
