“I’m training for a short fight,” Deiveson Figueiredo vows to knock out Brandon Moreno within the first 2 rounds

Deiveson Figueiredo
UFC Flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo is not looking to fight for five rounds against former rival Brandon Moreno at UFC 263 The champ is looking to finish what he left incomplete in 2020.
Deiveson and Brandon met each other before in December 2020 at UFC 256 where the fight came to end at a “majority draw”. The Brazilian does not want to fight the Mexican for five whole rounds this time taking its decision, he intends to knock Moreno out in the first two rounds. Moreno has been going at Deiveson with the trash talk for quite some time now.
Both the fighters have not fought in the octagon since their last meeting with each other in 2020. Figueiredo has a record of 20-1-1 and Brandon has a record of 18-5-2 in their professional careers. Recently in an interview with Ag Fight, Deiveson addressed Moreno saying the champion does not have any power and is waiting to prove him wrong. “I’m training for a short fight,” Deiveson Figueiredo said.
“I’m going to knock this guy out in the first or second round. I wasn’t 100% in the first fight. He’s been saying I don’t have potential, that my hands aren’t heavy. I’ll show him he’s wrong about what he thinks of me. I’m the kind of guy who can have this wrath awakened inside of me when my opponent starts talking nonsense. I had a meeting with my team and we came up with something inevitable. I want to show I’m the real owner of that belt.”
Deiveson Figueiredo says he only had 20 days for the first bout

Deiveson Figueiredo believes that a reason why he couldn’t finish Brandon Moreno in the first outing is that he had very little time to train. This time, the champ has trained for more or less three months. The UFC Flyweight champion believes that this will play a major factor in him finishing off Moreno. Deiveson Figueiredo is convinced that his opponent will last less than two rounds.
“I had three months to prepare for Moreno, which is something I didn’t have in the first fight,” Figueiredo said. “I only got 20 days. You can be sure that I’m going to be 100% and that this guy will last less than two rounds with me. I’m very confident, I trust my work and my team. I’m ready to fight him. His boxing is sharp, Mexicans like to box. I’m good at jiu-jitsu, I’m a blackbelt. But I’m also a striker. I’m more well-rounded than he is. No matter where the fight goes, you better believe it I’ll be ready for the rematch.”
