Colby Covington flames Drake for putting money on Masvidal

Spectators to a fight rarely make the headlines but that won’t be the case if you happen to be Pop Culture Icon and Hip Hop Artist, Drake. A video of the Canadian Rapper went viral where he was seen placing a bet on Gamebred Masvidal. With nearly $275,000 on the line, we aren’t sure what odds Drake received but he highly anticipated Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Covington in today’s Main event of UFC 272.

Former teammates now turned rivals, both these welterweights have ensued in a verbal battle over the past week and today wasthe Day of Judgment, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Both Covington and Masvidal came up short in their last fights against the “Pound for Pound King” Kamru Usman. Covington lost by unanimous decision at UFC 268 which was held last November and Masvidal was knocked out at UFC 261 in April 2021. Covington stands No.1 in the Welterweight division while Masvidal was ranked No. 6 in the same category.

With a long list of Sports teams and  Personalities like Connor McGregor and Serena Williams, who are said to have been victims of the curse, he is actually banned by several football teams from taking pictures with team members before a match.

With the controversies and drama that surround this awaited match, all eyes were definitely glued to the main event of UFC 272 and the main event shaped up to be an epic finale to the rivalry, with Colby winning through an unanimous decision. It safe to say that the curse took another victim and the myth still lives on.
