Nate Diaz vs Dustin Poirier

After losing to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 via submission, Dustin Poirier was in a very bad stage as he didn’t expect the fight to go like that.

It was Poirier’s second opportunity to get his hands on the Lightweight title, the first being the fight against former champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. After failing twice it seems like the fighter thought of going through some changes which might be beneficial for him. Since then Poirier’s been bulking up to take Diaz next.

Many fight fans criticized Dustin Poirier for fleeing away from the division without getting the title and fighting Diaz for the huge fight purse. Even Poirier’s lightweight rival, Islam Makhachev expressed that Poirier knows he is not getting the belt that’s why he is choosing the money fights. “think he just wanna make money. He knows he’s not gonna be a champion no more,” said Makhachev to Red Corner MMA

While it is true that the fight between Poirier and Diaz is definitely going to happen this year, fans around the world have been a little impatient with the official announcement. As the UFC is not giving any solid statement on the fight date and event, MMA fans are coming up with their own assumptions.

Recently Poirier was interacting with the fans on his official Twitter account. During one of the internet conversations, a fan asked the fighter what was going to be the outcome of the fight between him and Diaz. “@DustinPoirier do you think you could finish Nate or just win by decision,” asked Twitter user @amazingprospect. While replying to this, Poirier didn’t try to stretch his opinion long and just wrote on his Twitter “I’d stop him“.

It’s obvious that the fight is going to be an all-out striking showdown. Both Diaz and Poirier are among some of the best boxers in the UFC roster and it will be very interesting to see who will come victorious that night.

Both fighters have a very impressive chin and have the ability to take great amounts of damage without falling. But surely, Diaz has a little edge when it comes to keeping on fighting with injuries, the fighter seems to get even better as the rounds go by and the next level cardio just makes Diaz a walking zombie.
