‘Slow down on the Black forge’ – Dustin Poirier takes a dig at Conor McGregor’s Weight Gain

Dustin Poirier on Conor McGregor

All eyes are on Dustin Poirier as he looks to dethrone Charles Oliviera as the Lightweight champion on December 11, Saturday in Las Vegas. The fighter looks ready to claim a belt that many believe is rightfully his and fans can surely expect a thrilling bout between two of the top fighters in the world.

However, in a recent interview with Michael Bisping, retired UFC fighter, Bisping asks Poirier’s views on McGregor saying that he looks to challenge for the belt regardless of who comes out on top. Poirier responds by saying that “that dude says a lot of shit” and when Bisping asks if Poirier has seen the recent look of McGregor as he looks to have gone up to 185, Dustin replies by saying “he looks a bit puffy man he might want to slow down on the black forge, whatever he’s got going on”.

Poirier and McGregor were the talks of the town when both went head-to-head for the second time on UFC 257 with Poirier taking the win via knockout and just so happens to be Conor’s first-ever loss by knockout in the UFC. Conor was uncharacteristically ‘nice’ to Dustin as he looked to have taken a new approach to the way he handles his press conferences and face off’s. Many believe it was his ‘nice’ attitude that led to his downfall on Jan 24th.

But he looked back to his usual self when the trilogy fight with Poirier was announced as he went off on him on Twitter reminding him of his previous KO win at UFC 178 to which Poirier replied by doing the same. The trilogy did end with a disappointing and very terrifying note with Conor snapping his leg in two while trying to land a kick on Poirier’s calf. The fight ended with Poirier claiming victory via doctor’s stoppage.

“The Diamond” looks to be all focused on the fight with Oliviera as it is his second shot at a UFC title belt.
