“Easy money for me”- Khamzat Chimaev declares he can finish Israel Adesanya in the first round
Khamzat Chimaev calls out Israel Adesanya after UFC 271
Israel Adesanya sweeping the entire middleweight division does not impress rising superstar Khamzat Chimaev.
Israel Adesanya is coming off one of the most impressive victories in his career. The fighter is undefeated as a middleweight fighter and now has four title defenses under his belt. The fighter took on his arch-nemesis Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC 271. The fight took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas where Izzy beat Whittaker via unanimous decision.
While the entire world lauds Izzy’s performance, the monster from Chechnya, Khamzat Chimaev looks at Adesanya like he is a walk in the park. No one in Izzy’s UFC career has posed a threat in the octagon other than light heavyweight former champion Jan Blachowicz. Chimaev however thinks all it would take for him to defeat Izzy is one round.
“I’m gonna kill him,” writes Khamzat Chimaev in reaction to Adesanya’s win against Whittaker
“@stylebender easy money for me, 0 wrestling. 1 round I’m gonna kill him,” wrote Chimaev on his Twitter. This was Chimaev’s initial reaction to Izzy’s incredible performance. Chimaev is currently undefeated in his career and is climbing through the rankings of the welterweight division.
“Borz” however does have a few fights in the middleweight division. He has already obliterated two opponents in the UFC’s middleweight division in fights against Gerald Meerschaert and John Phillips. Both the middleweight fighters were knocked out. Izzy has said multiple times in the lead-up to his rematch against Whittaker that he wants “new blood”.
Do you think Chimaev could be the new blood that actually poses a threat to Izzy in the future? Khamzat has always been down to fight anybody in the UFC roster. However, given that Chimaev does fight at middleweight, a fight between him and Adesanya could actually turn out to be a blockbuster.
