UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will be fighting in one of the greatest heavyweight matchups of all time. He takes on his former teammate Ciryl Gane at the main event of UFC 270 in the Honda Center, Anaheim, California. The fight is set to happen this weekend with the heavyweight belt in line.

Ngannou will be fighting the last fight of his contract in the UFC on Saturday and regardless of changes in his contract, the heavyweight champion eyes a matchup against the biggest name in heavyweight boxing, Tyson Fury. The Gypsy King and The Predator have been going back and forth, but Ngannou confirms his interests at the UFC 270 press conference.

“Out of 10, let’s say 8, why not 9. Just to be conservative,” said Ngannou when asked the chances of him fighting Fury next. Recently, the boxer himself had made it public that the fight between the two titans could be held in Las Vegas.

When Tyson and Francis went back and forth for the first time. Ngannou was quick to propose they tweak the rules of a regular boxing match to make things spicier. Fury is not one to back out from a challenge and has agreed to fight Ngannou in whatever rules he proposes inside a boxing ring. “That idea just came out like that. I mean, I am not thinking about that fight now. But obviously, it would be good to bring something new,” said Ngannou talking to the media.

“Some crossover thing, something strange, very entertaining. I think it would make this very special and good. A new fighting style.” Ngannou will not only be fighting to defend his belt but his future in the UFC also depends on the upcoming fight in Anaheim. Ngannou has not fought since his championship bout against former champion Stipe Miocic last year. Do you think he can win against Ciryl Gane?
