Olympics gold medalist Gable Steveson is one of the hottest names in combat sports. While several organizations want him, Gable is clear that he won’t chase after them.

Gable Steveson secured the gold medal for the USA at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. At the young age of 21, he now has a great market in the fighting business. The UFC, Bellator, and even WWE have hinted at their interests in signing the Olympian. Steveson has been invited to the Bellator and also WWE SummerSlam so far. The biggest question is if UFC president Dana White is open to sign the gold medalist. Oddsmakers have already matched him against some of the biggest names in the heavyweight division of UFC.

Recently, Gable appeared on MMA Fighting’s MMA Hour hosted by Ariel Helwani talking about his future in the fighting business. While he was in Las Vegas, Steveson confirmed that he was not approached by UFC’s boss. “Meeting did not happen,” Steveson said. “I got to Vegas and I was on the go the whole day. I had no time to reach out or nothing. I don’t know. He’s got my number, he can reach out. He’s not coming at me like that. So like I said, I’ll wait my turn.”

The Olympic winner feels like it is not his job to chase organizations to sign him. He reveals that he is always open to offers and won’t wait on anybody. Recently he made a special appearance on WWE’s Summerslam event. He event posted on his social media, a picture of him and the CEO of the pro-wrestling organization, Vince McMahon. Steveson has also said that White has his phone number but still didn’t make a meeting happen when he was in Vegas.

“Dana, you have my phone number, you have my Instagram. I don’t run to people. I do my job. I wrestle, I win championships. I put on for the university. I put on for the USA. No need for me to run anywhere,” said Gable on the MMA Hour. Would you like to see the Olympian fight in the UFC octagon?
