The current UFC Featherweight Champion, Alexander Volkanovski did not leave a single chance to come into the highlights at the main event of UFC 266. He is simply days aloof from his most up-to-date featherweight title defense, which came within the style of a unanimous conclusion over Brian Ortega at the UFC 266’s main event in Las Vegas, Nevada, last weekend. Giga Chikadze was in attendance at the stadium and he called out Alexander Volkanovski after the fight with his tweet
According to the consensus, Volkanovski will have to face the Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodriguez winner, who will fight at UFC Vegas in Sin City on November 13th. But Giga Chikadze believes Volkanovski should fight him.
In his latest interview with MMA Junkie, Giga Chikadze says, “Why wait for the two to pull it off when streak contender Giga Chikadze is already available?”
“He wants to have another fight this year or January” Giga Chikadze makes case for his fight against Alexander Volkanovski
The last fight of Giga Chikadze was in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 21, 2021, where he defeated Edson Barboza in Round 3. In June 2018, Chikadze lost against Austin Springer in Dana White’s “Contender Series” but since he has been unbeatable with 9 fight win streak.
Chikadze added, “Why don’t I deserve a title fight? He wants to have another fight this year or January. I think that would make a lot of sense and it would be a fucking fight. He can 155, he can talk about anything he wants, but in reality he is the 145 champion. If he wants to stay busy, he has to fight someone who is entertaining and a good fighter.” {H/T MMA Junkie}
In the end, Giga Chikadze concluded, “I’m only interested in the top 3 guys, The champion or the top 3 guys. These guys deserve a lot of credit and I know there’s a lot of people who talk about me. I only want to fight on the top level of guys that push me toward the title, or the champion.”
