“Only if it’s the case of them coming with Floyd Mayweather money,” Gilbert Burns demands a big amount of money to fight his teammate, Vicente Luque

Gilbert Burns and Vicente Luque
The former UFC Welterweight title challenger and number 2nd ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Gilbert Burns is waiting for his next opponent since his unanimous decision win against Stephen Thompson at UFC 264. Burns has been calling out almost everyone to fight him next.
But there is one fighter in the division against whom Gilbert Burns isn’t going to enter the Octagon until UFC offers him Floyd Mayweather money, i.e. his teammate and number 4th ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Vicente Luque.
UFC has tried to book this fight on multiple occasions in past and they recently approached, Ali Abdelaziz to book this fight again and both of them immediately turned it down. Talking about the same in his latest interview with MMA Fighting, Portuguese Podcast, Trocação Franca, Gilbert Burns says,
“The long wait for a fight is a bit frustrating, I won’t say it isn’t, but it’s part of the job, the UFC said the fight to make would be Vicente and I, but since we have this partnership, it won’t happen. This brotherhood screwed us, otherwise we would have fought already.”
“If we had fought, No. 2 against No. 4, I’d be way up there with a win, and Vicente would be up there with a win as well. I think that’s what’s keeping us stuck, more than the other guys in the division.”
Talking about the hypothetical situation in which Luque and Burns agree to fight each other, Gilbert Burns added, “Only if it’s the case of them coming with Floyd Mayweather money and Vicente and I talk and get to the point of like, ‘Let’s fight just for the money.’”
“Only if it’s something like that, other than that, there’s no way. And Mayweather money won’t happen. Only if it’s life-changing stuff that we talk and see we have to take it. Other than that, I think it’s very difficult.” {H/t MMA Fighting}
Gilbert Burns blasts other top-five ranked contenders for not facing him

The rumors were there that Gilbert Burns might be facing the surging Welterweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev in his next fight and he agrees to this seeing there is no other option as all the top five Welterweight contenders are not ready to face him.
Burns added, “Leon Edwards, if you think about it, why he won’t take the fight? Because it’s a dangerous fight for him, otherwise he would fight me or Vicente. It the same thing with Colby Covington. Colby knows damn well who I am. Why did he ask for Jorge Masvidal? Oh, there’s a rivalry?”
“Sure, but, if he wants the belt, he knows that’s not the path to go. I know who I am and the danger I am in this division. It’s frustrating, but I’m past that. I’m staying ready, and I’ll be the first to raise my hand when the opportunity comes.”
