UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is supposed to face the number one contender Glover Teixeira at the main event of UFC 267. Glover is 41 years old, and this could very possibly be his last title run, he is determined to become the champion before ending his career, and he is ready to do anything to get there.
Jan’s journey has been pretty amazing as well, Glover respects the champ and sees many similarities between them, talking to BT Sports, he said, “Yeah, Jan and I have a good or pretty much similar career in the UFC. Some ups and downs we showed big comeback and he even say let’s show those young guys how to fight and respect each other no need to talk shit and do all the clown stuff that a lot of people. You know I’m not against it but I’m like if you do that and you don’t show up in a fight that’s embarrassing you know.”
He said, “If you gonna do that show up in the fight, me and Jan you guys all know that’s what we’re all about, go after submission go after finish, we go after KO me myself I have most finish in light heavyweight division so that says for itself.”
“When people compare you to your idols it feels good,” Glover Teixeira believes he is in the right place in his career
Glover likes the fact that he is getting all the recognition at this stage of his career, he has been fighting for over a decade, and talked about this in the interview as well, he said he is very happy right now, and it feels good when people compare him to some of the legends of his country.
He said, “It feels amazing you know, like people the another day were making big a comparison between me and one of my idols you know, comparisons were like he come and he fought Mirko Cro Cop and he comeback and he finish, when people compare you to your idols it feels good.”
