“That stuff can break a career”- Georges St-Pierre warns Francis Ngannou about the dangers of fighting Tyson Fury

Francis Ngannou has an ultimatum he is to face at the end of the year that could change his career trajectory. UFC’s heavyweight champion is trying to renegotiate his contract with the UFC, and he wants a special clause that would allow him to compete in boxing matches as well.

Ngannou is probably the baddest man on the planet, and he believes he’s not getting paid enough for his services in the UFC. Boxing’s heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury would make around £20 Million for his next fight against Dillian Whyte, and Ngannou got only $600,000 for his last title defense against Ciryl Gane.

Ngannou’s journey from in a Sand Mine to becoming a UFC champion is nothing but unbelievable and his close friends, and MMA legend, Georges St-Pierre believes he deserves all the money in the world. In his recent interview with Ariel Helwani from The MMA Hour, he advised Ngannou to part ways with the UFC if they don’t pay him the money he deserves.

GSP wants Ngannou to discover further options, but he believes a possible fight against Tyson Fury isn’t necessarily in his best interest. He said, “I think he deserves it, that kind of money, millions of dollars, but deep down inside, because he’s such an incredible talent in MMA, I’m afraid that if he goes to boxing against Fury, yes he’s gonna make one shot against Fury with a lot of money, but he’s a specialist of mixed martial arts.”

He added, “Fury has boxed all his life, so the odds will go towards Tyson Fury in a boxing match. Of course they will never fight in MMA because Francis will crush him in under 30 seconds, but I’m just afraid that if he steps into boxing, maybe he’s gonna get the punch — sometimes that stuff can break a career.”

“So if I would be him, I would tend to fight in MMA as long as I’m not tired of doing it, and when he’s at the end of his career, if he wants to do a boxing fight, why not? But it’s up to him. He can do whatever he wants. And if you look at him, all his life, the odds were always against him and he always made it. So maybe he’s gonna knock out Tyson Fury and I don’t know what I’m talking about. Who knows? I wish him the best,” GSP concluded.
