Giga Chikadze laughed at Alexander Volkanovski when he called out “The Korean Zombie” for a fight when Max Holloway pulled out because of an injury. He didn’t get that fight, but he already has an opponent in Calvin Kattar. These two will compete at the first UFC event of 2022 at UFC Vegas 46.
Chikadze is undefeated in the UFC and is one of the favorites to become the champion. The fighter made his debut in 2019 and is currently riding on a 7-fight winning streak. Chikadze called out Volkanovski for not considering him as a replacement.
Volkanovski has nothing but respect for the rising featherweight. The champion explained why he did not consider Chikadze as the next to fight for the title. “All respect bro but your fighting for rank #5 next week….See you soon!!” said Volkanovski replying to Chikadze’s sarcastic laughs.

Giga earned the biggest win of his career in his recent fight against Edson Barboza, and a win over Kattar would definitely put him in title contention. Right now, he is now focused on the title shot, he is just thinking about his next opponent, and talking to MMA Junkie, he said, “I even had a quick chat with Dana since I was at the P.I. We had some interactions there. He said, ‘You’re right there. Handle your business and then we’ll talk after.’ Even more motivation from that, I guess.”
“I just want to warn everybody that I have a fight this weekend. I’ll be knocking out people that no one would believe I was going to knock them out – in a minute, in a striking way, in this, in that. I just want them to open their eyes and watch this weekend very well, and after this make a decision. I’m just concentrating to perform the best I’ve ever been,” Giga concluded.
