Francis Ngannou returns to the octagon as the champion to defend his belt against the interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane. “The Predator” is the first African champion in the heavyweight division and is looking forward to fighting his former teammate, Gane.

In the recent episode of “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”, Francis makes a special appearance and talks about his upcoming fight which is held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. In the show, Francis talks about how his opponent’s perfect record does not faze him at all.

“A fight will never be easy. When you fight a man you never know what will happen. There is not a fight that is gonna be easy,” said Francis. Ngannou is fighting on the last fight on his contract. This fight could potentially decide the future of the champ in the promotion.

Francis acknowledges the challenge put in front of him. Having already trained with Ciryl, he admits that the Frenchman is a really tough contender. “He’s a tough guy. He is a very good, talented opponent. A very good contender for me. You said something like a perfect record. There is not a perfect record. I have seen 10 and 0 before. This is not my first 10 and 0,” said Francis in the interview.

Ciryl has a record of 10-0 and has risen to the top of the food chain in a very short time. He has been in the promotion for the last three years and fought 7 times previously. He is also a young heavyweight. The Frenchman is deemed as the one of the most technical heavyweights of all time. Despite all the hype, Francis predicts to knock out Ciryl under two rounds.
