Colby Covington explains his side of the argument to Michael Bisping, starting with how he only stopped caring about what people said and ‘turned it to a 100’ during and after the Demian Maia fight, claiming he was ‘just being himself’. He also adds that he does sell PPV tickets by fully ‘being himself’ and also believes that he is the current welterweight champ.

After those heavy claims, Colby movies on to talking about the current fight with Jorge Masvidal. Colby Covington agrees that he and Jorge were more than ‘Bestfriends‘, says they were ‘Brother from another mother’, explains that Jorge just got jealous of Colby taking over, being a better fighter.

“When I came into Jorge’s life, his career got better, he started winning fights you know, He was losing to Gilbert Melendez, He was getting upside triangle by Toby Imada…As soon as I came into his career, he started winning, He started upping his game because of my lifestyle, my discipline, the things that I bring to the table, and then he wants to backstab me seven-eight years later for no reason?…”

Colby explains the whole scenario to Bisping about how Jorge just wanted to ‘Put a fork in it’ because it was Team Colby or Team Jorge at that time in ATT, adds that Dan Lambert who was the head coach was paid generously for every fight. Colby and Jorge were both on the rise and Colby claims that Jorge just got jealous of his success and used him as a ‘Scape goat’ to undercut him and get a title shot.

Colby also says that the accusations of Masvidal were all just out of sheer jealousy and explains how he paid at least Five to Ten thousand dollars to Paulino Hernandez (Striking coach) after every fight, says he ‘didn’t have to pay a single dollar’ but says he was thankful for Paulino helping him improve his striking skills.
