Henry Cejudo calls out Petr Yan

Henry Cejudo didn’t let pass the comments made by the former Bantamweight champion, Petr Yan. Yan is currently all set to take on Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273 for the Bantamweight championship. The fight will take place on April 9 at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Ahead of the fight, the Russian was invited by MMA journalist, Ariel Helwani on his show ‘The MMA HOUR‘. The episode was posted on YouTube in which Yan shared his fight preparations. During the conversation, Yan told Helwani that he is willing to accept help from Sean O’Malley and Henry Cejudo to be his cornerman during the fight. Yan also mentioned that he hopes that both of them won’t try to give him unnecessary comments about how to fight. They just can be there and provide ice and water.

“I hope Cejudo and Sean O’Malley are going to show up on Saturday night…Just need to make sure they don’t give me shi**y advice. Just give me ice and water and I will be fine, ” said Yan.

What Yan said might be a joke with a few insults towards Cejudo and O’Malley but it’s hard to say what’s going to happen. When Helwani seriously asked Yan regarding his cornermen, Yan said they will find out during the fight.

After those comments made by Petr Yan on the MMA Hour Show, Henry Cejudo was quick to share his reaction. The former UFC double champion took to Twitter and made a couple of things clear. Cejudo explained to Yan that he is not a waterboy. The former fighter also took a sneaky dig on Yan as well as Sean O’Malley in his tweet.

Cejudo revealed that with Yan’s illegal knee against Aljamain Sterling and O’Malley’s steroids accusations, it’s too much for him to get involved. In the end, he tagged, Yan and wrote #bendthekneepotatoface.

“Sorry buddy I ain’t nobody’s Waterboy! Between your knees and O’Malley’s steroids…it’s just too much illegal activity for me to be involved in. #bendthekneepotatoface ???@PetrYanUFC,” wrote Cejudo on his Twitter. 

It’s not the first time Cejudo was offered or had the chance to corner fighters during a UFC bout. Recently, Cejudo cornered Deiveson Figueiredo in his flyweight title fight against Brandon Moreno.
