Kamaru Usman will corner Francis Ngannou at UFC 270
Francis Ngannou will once again have the support of welterweight king Kamaru Usman in his corner at his UFC 270 heavyweight title fight.
Francis Ngannou takes on Ciryl Gane at the main event of UFC 270. The fight is set to be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The fight will take place tomorrow and Ngannou will get the added confidence from his dear friend Kamaru Usman. Who better than the pound-for-pound king himself at your corner.
Ngannou will be making his first title defense against the interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane. This fight has the potential to be the best heavyweight fight of all time. “The Predator” has a lot riding in this fight. He will be defending his title and also his UFC career in the main event tomorrow against a very skillful and technical Gane.
Talking to MMA Junkie, Usman confirmed that he will corner his friend Ngannou. “I’m seeing a stone-cold killer. This is how Francis is in every fight. It’s something very rare when you have a guy this big. Whenever Francis Ngannou walks into a room everyone knows Francis is in the room. I see him calm and he’s ready to step in there,” said Usman.

Kamaru Usman works out with the heavyweight champ ahead of UFC 270
The UFC is very special for Africans as they have three native champions. The welterweight, middleweight, and heavyweight divisions are ruled by African champs. This has created a special bond between Kamaru, Francis, and Israel Adesanya. Usman was also part of Ngannou’s title-winning fight against the legend Stipe Miocic. Usman was cornering Ngannou when he knocked out the former champion cold at UFC 260.
Similarly, Usman has taken time off his schedule to help Francis train for UFC 270. The Nigerian Nightmare was seen making a cameo on the UFC 270 Embedded Vlog Series. Kamaru and Francis worked out together as coach Eric thanked Usman for being there.
According to Francis’ coach, Usman brings in championship mentality and a special bond that helps the heavyweight champ stay motivated. “I’m excited to see him perform again and at the same time, I’m nervous,” said the P4P king during training.
