“I don’t want to see him hurt” Colby Covington talks about Nick Diaz’s harmful lifestyle
Colby Covington talks about Nick Diaz
Nick Diaz’s return to the octagon wasn’t as eventful as many people would have expected and Colby Covington too was not impressed with the veteran coming off from a huge layoff.
Nick Diaz is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars the MMA world has seen. The superstar from Stockton was banned from the sport for five years and he finally made a much-anticipating come back against his former rival Robbie Lawler at UFC 266. Much to everyone’s disappointment, the fighter was not himself and gave up in the third round which gave Lawler a victory via TKO.
Colby Covington talks about what led to the state of the veteran inside the octagon. “He is not disciplined, man,” said Covington talking to reporter James Lynch in an interview. “He was a good fighter in his career, at one point in time. He wasn’t a great fighter, he was a good fighter, a brawler, he would stay in there.”

“He’s losing control of his life” Colby Covington believes Nick Diaz needs to get his life together
“The guy let himself go. He is in Vegas every weekend partying, doing drugs, drinking heavy alcohol, and just losing control of his life, man. I knew what was going to happen. I knew he was gonna get knocked out by Robbie. Look at his gut, dude. That is a retirement body. That is a dad bod,” said Covington in the interview.
“He should just hang it up. He has a pretty good legacy, it’s average, but I don’t want to see that guy get hurt.” Diaz’s return to the octagon against Lawler was very special to the MMA fans given the first time the two fought against each other was at UFC 27 in 2004 where Diaz beat Lawler via TKO in the second round.
Nick has a record of 26-10 in his MMA professional career and will undoubtedly go down as one of the greats in the history books. Do you agree with Covington saying Diaz needs to hang up his gloves and never fight again?
