“I felt the power” Kevin Holland details his experience of meeting Khabib Nurmagomedov
Kevin Holland talks about meeting Khabib Nurmagomedov
Meeting Khabib Nurmagomedov was all the motivation Kevin Holland needed to get going for his upcoming fight on March 5th.
Kevin Holland is ready to make it big in the new weight class. The middleweight fighter has decided to move down to the 170-lb division and is ready to make his debut as one at UFC 272 against the entertaining Alex Oliveira. Holland is looking for a fresh start in his career after consecutive defeats in the middleweight division.
Talking to the Schmo, Holland said he met Khabib Nurmagomedov in the locker room and he feels motivated by that. “I just seen Khabib in the locker room so I feel like my inner grappling is fully channeled in and my will to stop headbutts after talking to Vettori is there, so let’s f**king go,” said Holland talking the Schmo.
When the reporter asked what was said between Kevin and Khabib, the “Trailblazer” joked saying, “Well he just shook my hand and I felt the power. He said, ‘you’re looking skinny’ but other than that it was like ‘OH the GOAT is shaking your hand’,” said Holland.
When Kevin Holland spoke to Khabib Nurmagomedov during the fight
When Holland headlined UFC Vegas 22 with Derek Brunson, “Trailblazer” was at his best inside the octagon when it came to trash talking. Not only was Holland talking to his opponent, but he was also talking to Khabib, sitting cageside with the UFC president Dana White.
Kevin was getting rag-dolled by Brunson with takedowns and there wasn’t much that the fighter from Riverside could do to stop the takedowns. Kevin being Kevin, decided to ask Khabib for takedown advice. “Give me some wrestling advice!” said Kevin as he was getting thrown towards the cage against Brunson.
Holland got the former UFC lightweight champion laughing as he replied with “Focus! Focus! Brunson there, let’s go.” Though the fans found it very interesting to see Holland talk to Khabib during the fight, Kevin’s corner was clearly not happy to see him talking.
