Anthony Smith in an interview with James Lynch has come out and bashed Aleksandar Rakic for making it look like Smith was faking his injury and didn’t want to fight Rakic. Smith cleared the air and responded that the fight could not materialize because of the injuries he suffered in his last fight and the staph infection afterward.

Anthony Smith did not see these allegations made by Rakic but still gave his side of the story for the fight not happening and said, “No I didn’t, I don’t pay attention to him but yeah I mean I wanted to fight but it’s hard to tell what’s hurt and what’s not when you’re in like immediately after the fight, it takes, you got adrenaline and your heart’s racing and like you don’t feel a whole lot in there and then afterward you know I started limping and my leg was bothering me and then you know we get back on Monday and then Tuesday they find out that I tore my LCL in the fight and we had to deal with that and then I was set back even further with the staph infection so it was all completely out of my control.

Anthony Smith said he did notice Rakic’s manager and pointed out that his manager is harassing him on Twitter. Smith said, “I did see on Twitter, I think it’s his manager, I don’t know who it is but some guys constantly were harassing me about ducking him and whatever that, I think we all know that’s not the case but I can’t fight if I am injured and I can’t fight with staph infection so getting back as quickly as I can.”

Anthony Smith and Aleksandar Rakic were wanting to fight each other after Smith’s win over Ryan Spann. Rakic called him out on Twitter. Smith and Rakic fought before where Rakic got the win by decision in a dominant but not so exciting fight.

Anthony Smith was informed of the callout by Michael Bisping during the octagon interview. Smith took it as an early Christmas present by saying Mery Christmas to me and walked out of the octagon. Here’s the octagon interview of Anthony Smith after his win over Ryan Spann.
