Israel Adesanya deals with criticism in his own style. The UFC middleweight champion once again pokes fun of the steroid allegations he has been receiving for the past two years.
Israel Adesanya has been living his best life since his title defense against arch-rival Robert Whittaker at UFC 271. The middleweight champion is on a mission to lap around the entire division and has been very successful at it. Despite there being no flaws in his game inside the octagon, Izzy sure has met with some flak from the media and the fans.
UFC fighters have received a bad reputation for consuming steroids such as performance enhancement drugs and Izzy has also not been far away from having been accused of that. In his recent tweet, Adesanya posted a picture of him showing off his physique and writing, “I’d think I was juicing too.” To make things funnier, the fighter also added a needle and juice box emoji.
Adesanya has repeatedly addressed the issue and said that he has never consumed illegal drugs to enhance his performance. Adesanya has a visible lump in his chest, in the nipple region which has led to a lot of speculation regarding the Kiwi’s “natural” status.
How Israel Adesanya addressed his steroid accusations

At UFC 253, when Adesanya beat Paulo Costa via KO, fans began to notice an unusual lump in the chest of Adesanya. Speculations began saying that it was a condition called gynecomastia. Adesanya later clarified that it was not gyno since the lump was only present on one side of the chest.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani for ESPN, Adesanya revealed that the gyno might happen to be because of his unhealthy way of living life. The fighter said he used to consume marijuana on a regular. “To be honest, it might have been unhealthy living a little bit, like smoking weed,” Adesanya said in an interview in 2020. “That’s what the doctor from UFC said. He said I need to stop but I said I’m not stopping. I’m just going to slow down on the weed smoking.”
