Champion Alex Periera and former champion Israel Adesanya will rematch at UFC 287 for the Middleweight title. They will fight a week from now and are in the final stages of preparation heading into the fight. Adesanya is known to react to his fights on his Youtube channel. It was in 2019 when he spoke with Sporting News Australia about his loss to Alex Pereira.
Adesanya said, “I got knocked out. My first and only ever knockout loss and back-to-back losses as well. For me, it was a lot of learning, but I am glad that happened because I wouldn’t be where I was and even the same guy now he watches all my fights, and every time I fight, like clockwork he puts something out like ‘I beat this guy’. But, I have never ever watched any of his fights. At the end of the day, no one knows who the f*** he is.”
Israel Adesanya has never defeated Alex Pereira in a fight. Ironically, since then, Pereira has come to the UFC to fight Adesanya. Previously, in Kickboxing bouts, Pereira beat Adesanya twice; the second time, it was knockout. Last year at UFC 281, Pereira got a stoppage victory over Adesanya again. Now at UFC 287, they will fight for a fourth time, and Adesanya will hope to finally defeat the scary Brazilian striker.
Alex Pereira will look to put the rivalry to bed at UFC 287. He is training with “Iceman” Chuck Liddell and Glover Texeira for his fight against Adesanya. Fight fans are looking forward to seeing if Adesanya defeat Pereira or if Pereira will remain Adesanya’s “Kryptonite”.
UFC 287 could be the last chance for Israel Adesanya
Israel Adesanya has already lost three times to Alex Pereira; losing another time will put him out of reach of the Middleweight title. He lost for the first time in the Middleweight division to Pereira, and now another loss will likely make him unable to fight for the title as long as Pereira remains the champion. No fighter has ever fought someone a third time after losing the first two bouts.

In an interview, Adesanya said, “The mindset is definitely different. I like it because it puts it all on me, and it’s kind of poetic in a way. One life: Roll the dice. This is my last shot, and I’m going to give it all I’ve got in every sense of the word.”
Alex Pereira will look to put the rivalry to an end against Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. He is 3-0 against Adesanya in MMA and Kickboxing bouts. Pereira is the only fighter to win the Glory Kickboxing world championship and the UFC title. Fight fans will soon find out what will ensue at UFC 287.
