“It’s all part of the drama,” Dana White is confident he will hear from Jon Jones after UFC 270
Jon Jones might call up Dana White after UFC 270
Dana White is excited for the upcoming heavyweight title matchup at UFC 270 this weekend. He is confident that superstar Jon Jones will make his final decision after tonight’s fight.
Two heavyweight champions take the center stage this weekend in Anaheim, California. UFC 270 is headlined by the heavyweight title unifier bout of Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane. This is being labeled as the greatest heavyweight matchup of all time. Part of why this is bout getting all the hype is because of the storylines and how important this fight could be for the future of the heavyweight division.
Jon Jones, undoubtedly the greatest UFC fighter has not fought for almost two years. The former light heavyweight champion decided to move up a weight class and conquer the heavyweight division. Unfortunately, 2021 was not his year with disputes with the UFC boss. This year, “Bones” is very interested to make a return.
Dana White in a recent interview spoke about Jon’s possible return this year. “However this fight ends, we will probably hear from him on social media. Maybe even during the fight,” said White talking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Dana White is uncertain if Jones wants Ngannou next
Though Dana would hope he could make a super fight happen between Francis and Jones, the President is unsure if the former light heavyweight champion seeks that matchup still. “I don’t feel confident saying that Jones is next,” said White to Brett Okamoto. “Not because I think he’s unreliable, it is because I honestly don’t know what Jon Jones wants to do next.”
White is doubtful if Jones will want to step up to heavyweight or go back to the light heavyweight division and recapture his belt. “I think Jon’s going to watch this fight, and he’ll decide. Maybe he doesn’t fight at heavyweight, maybe he goes back and tries to regain the light heavyweight championship. I don’t know the answer to that. There is so much going into this fight, it’s all part of the drama, though. That’s what makes it fun.”
Though Dana is still very skeptical, Jones’ recent tweet suggests that he is buckled in for this heavyweight bout. The fighter wrote recently, “Really have no clue who’s going to win, I’m just excited to watch the fight. Going to learn so much about the both of them no matter how it goes down.”
