Jon Jones and Jan Blachowicz

Fighting Jon Jones might be a dream for many fighters but not to the Jan Blachowicz. The UFC light heavyweight champion says he does not care about the greatest light heavyweight anymore.

Jon Jones is undoubtedly the greatest light heavyweight of all time but it has been over a year since “Bones” fought in the octagon and UFC doesn’t seem bothered about it anymore. Jan Blachowicz resonates the same feeling as the promotion too. Blachowicz became the champion in 2020 as he knocked out Dominick Reyes to capture the vacant light heavyweight belt. Jon on the other hand has said decided to move up a weight class but is yet to step into the octagon.

Recently, Jan spoke to MMA Fighting if he would be interested in fighting Jones in a future matchup and the current champion couldn’t care less. “I think Jones, this conversation is over,” Blachowicz said. “It’s not making sense to talk about him anymore. I don’t know. Maybe he don’t fight anymore, anywhere at heavyweight or light heavyweight, I don’t think so. I don’t know what he’ll do. I forgot about him. You remind me about Jon right now.”

Apparently, in the past, Jan had a desire to fight Jones and defeat him but at this point after all the drama between UFC and Jones, the champ does not care anymore. “A half year ago, it would be a different way, ‘I have to beat him, I’ll find him somewhere and beat him,’” Blachowicz spoke about his past inclination towards the Jones fight.

“Like I said before but right now I don’t care about him. If he comes back, OK. If not, who cares,” said Jan ending the talk about Jones. Jan is now scheduled to take on Glover Teixeira at UFC 267 to make his second title defense. Jan made his first-ever title defense against Israel Adesanya, the middleweight champion who made an ambitious move to a heavier weight class.
