Jan Blachowicz open to Israel Adesanya rematch

Jan Blachowicz might have gone past Israel Adesanya with ease but the fighter from Poland is all in to run it back with the middleweight king one more time.

Jan Blachowicz is scheduled to fight Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight title fight at UFC 267. Jan will be defending his title for the second time in his career. UFC 267 will take place in Abu Dhabi on 20th October. Blachowicz is coming off a fantastic win against Israel Adesanya at UFC 259. Izzy, the middleweight champion dared to be great and made an ambitious move up a weight class to challenge Jan for the light heavyweight belt. Blachowicz won the fight via unanimous decision and showed his true excellence. Izzy has gone back to fighting in the middleweight division and beat Marvin Vettori in a title defense.

Blachowicz ahead of his main event in Abu Dhabi spoke to UFC Arabia about the possibility of fighting Adesanya one more time and giving Izzy a chance to snatch the belt from the Polish monster. “John” does not have any problem in taking on Izzy more time but the light heavyweight champion has some conditions before that.

“Yes, why not. But if he wants a rematch in 205. He needs to come back, makes some fight.. wins two or three fights with top 10 fighters and then with me,” said Blachowicz on the rematch. Blachowicz also feels that Izzy has the skill set to hold his ground in a weight class above. “Yes he got everything to fight in 205 but we will see if he comes or not. But yeah he got everything.”

Blachowicz also recaps his performance from UFC 259. Blachowicz said he could not catch Izzy in the first fight and hence could not finish him. Despite not using his “Polish Power” Jan showed the world he could dominate fights in other aspects too. Would you like to see a rematch between Adesanya and Blachowicz?
