“Some 500 punches,” Jiri Prochazka reveals his crazy “Naruto” style fight training
Jiri Prochazka training in the woods
Jiri Prochazka is not your regular MMA fighter. The Czech light heavyweight fighter prepares for his fights like no one else in the game.
“Denisa” is one of the rising stars in the UFC. The 29-year-old light heavyweight fighter came to the top like no one else. The fighter is most likely to be the next title contender and all it took for Jiri Prochazka to get here are two fights in the UFC.
Prochazka has fought inside the UFC octagon twice and has more than impressed his audience with his performances. Jiri is coming off two straight deadly knockout wins against Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes. The secret to this deadly KOs lies in his training it seems like.
In a recent episode of MMA Hour, Jiri Prochazka revealed his training routine and it sounds unreal. The fighter does not start off his training by hitting the bags, instead, he takes it all out on a tree trunk. “Then I can go through the opponent’s body with my technique and my technique can be more dangerous. It is good training for the body,” explained the rising light heavyweight contender.
Jiri Prochazka reveals the secret behind being crazy inside the octagon
Hitting the tree trunk during a fight prep is not the craziest thing that Prochazka does. It is the number of times he goes hard on the tree. Prochazka has revealed his style of training to the public on his Instagram account. The fighter can be seen punching a tree with his UFC gloves in the woods.
“After some 500 punches, then I go to the bag and the bag is very easy, believe me. No breaks. That’s how my training must be because if you want to show something crazy, something new, you must train like that,” said Prochazka to Ariel Helwani on MMA Hour.
Jiri’s next fight is most likely against the newly crowned champion of the light heavyweight division, Glover Teixeira. Prochazka was called up as the backup fighter for the title bout at UFC 267 where Jan Blachowicz defended his title against the veteran Teixeira. After watching his training videos, we can’t wait to see how it plays out inside the octagon.
