UFC Commentator Joe Rogan is an expert in MMA and the combat sports world. He has covered the sport since its early days and continues to cover it on his world-famous podcast. Rogan is one of the most respected figures in the fight game and knows the history of MMA. He talked about the most intense stare down on his podcast.
Stare downs are an important weapon among fighters leading up to the fight. Since they cannot physically harm each other before entering the octagon, they use stare downs to intimidate opponents. According to Joe Rogan, the stare down between Mirko Cro Cop and Wanderlei Silva remains the best in MMA history.
Wanderlei Silva is considered a savage in the sport of MMA. He competed in Japan’s Pride Fighting Championships and in the UFC during the 2000s. Silva holds the record for the most wins, knockouts, title defenses, and longest winning streak in Pride history. On the other hand, Mirko Cro Cop is a different kind of savage. Before beginning his MMA career, he had established himself as an accomplished kickboxer. He was also a commando in the Croatian Police Anti-Terrorist Unit.
Rogan said, “Cro Cop versus Silva, this is the best stare down ever. That’s the eyes of a guy who has killed someone with a knife, f***in completely different staredown. He’s a real murderer,” addressing Cro Cop. Rogan continued, “Cro Cop’s looking at him, and he is not budging. This is the first time where Wanderlei lost a staredown.” The fight ended in a draw after a brutal fifteen minutes of war. Eventually, they would rematch a year later, and Cro Cop defeated Silva by knockout.
Joe Rogan praise Mark Zuckerberg’s Jiu-Jitsu tournament victory
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently competed in a local BJJ tournament in California. He won the gold and silver medals at the tournament. Rogan praised Zuckerberg on his podcast.
Rogan said in one of his recent episodes with Kim Congdon and Sara Weinshenk, “Look at Zuckerberg strangling b***hes. I think that’s amazing. I love when people just, he doesn’t have to do anything. He’s one of the richest people on Earth, and he just takes a chance, tries to get good at this thing, goes and competes in this thing. We should all celebrate that. That’s amazing.”
In Redwood, California, Mark Zuckerberg participated in a neighborhood Jiu-Jitsu competition. He competed in both gi and no-gi fights. Zuckerberg won several bouts at the competition and took home a gold and a silver medal. Rogan was thrilled with the achievement and urged everyone to recognize the billionaire’s dedication and hard work.
