During an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience with Knox, Rogan spoke about two scientists who lost their lives due to a horrific expedition. Rogan revealed that two scientists wanted to photograph bats leaving a cave, and they waited outside. However, Rogan said that things took a turn for the worse when the bats actually flew out. He said, “As the bats leave they sh*t all over these guys, millions and millions of them. They developed a haemorrhagic virus and were dead within days.”

Rogan has also talked about bats many times on his podcasts he believes that they are fascinating creatures. He has also invited bat conservationist Merlin Tuttle to his podcast multiple times in the past. They spoke about how bats affected the environment and were responsible for some diseases and habitat loss. However, he has gained much knowledge regarding their behaviors through his podcasts.
