Joe Rogan found himself at the center of controversy after the UFC 214. The light heavyweight title bout saw Jon Jones emerge victorious over former rival Daniel Cormier. The postfight interview with the defeated Daniel Cormier became a talking point.

Cormier endured a brutal contest, even by UFC standards. Jon Jones delivered a vicious head kick and a sustained beating, with UFC President Dana White questioning whether it should have been stopped earlier. Joe Rogan interviewed Cormier following the fight, which many deemed a questionable decision.

Rogan later took to his social media platforms to express his regret, taking full responsibility for the interview. He also spoke about it on his podcast. In hindsight, Rogan reflected on the moment, stating, ” And literally as I’m going to talk to him…I’m like why am I interviewing him after he got knocked out? What the f*ck is wrong with me…”. Daniel Cormier was later diagnosed with a concussion. He struggled to articulate his feelings during the interview with Rogan. Tearfully, he said, “I really don’t know what happened. I guess I got kicked in the head.”
