UFC commentator Joe Rogan is the host of the Joe Rogan Experience. The podcast is one of the most viewed in the world. Rogan talks with people from all walks of life on the podcast. However, MMA fighters and comedians are regular on the podcast. In addition to Rogan and the guest, the producer of JRE is one of the important personalities of the podcast.
On the podcast episode with Derek MPMD, Rogan talked about the time when Rogan met Jamie Vernon, the producer of JRE. This is what Rogan said about the time they met.
I met Jamie at a comedy club. He told me he's a professional audio engineer, and he was saying we have problems with our sound. I said, 'What would you do to fix it?' He goes, 'I could take a look at it.' And, you know, that was kind of the extent of the conversation, right? Yeah, mostly, pretty much. And then Jamie said he took a one-way ticket from Ohio to come to LA. This is what he wants to do. And I was like, 'Really?' Right away, I was like, 'Yep, I was right, the man.' ...Jamie's been here for 9 years. Yeah, no, 11, 11 years. Not everybody's Jamie, yeah.Joe Rogan via JRE
Through JRE, Jamie Vernon became very famous worldwide. Many use Vernon’s first name as a way to get help from friends, similar to the way Rogan asks for help from Vernon. Their bond is powerful because they have done JRE for 11 years and are still going.
The rising popularity of Rogan has limited his appearance in the UFC commentary booth to domestic PPVs. As such, he won’t be in the commentary booth at UFC 297 in Canada with Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier. Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has filled in for Rogan at UFC 297.
Joe Rogan talks about the importance of Jamie Vernon for JRE
Joe Rogan has a very close bond with the producer of his podcast, Jamie Vernon. Vernon is instrumental during the podcast in providing information from the internet or providing a fact check. Sometimes, Vernon even picks up things even before Rogan instructs him to do so.
Rogan spoke about the importance and telepathic bond of Vernon on his podcast episode with Derek MPMD. This is what he said.
Jamie and I are kind of telepathic in this weird way. Like, I'll be talking about something, and Jamie will already have it pulled up. Like, I'll start the conversation, and I'm like, 'Did you see this new jet?' And then all of a sudden, Jaime's got the video pulled, and you'll see guests go, 'How the f*ck did you? How did you do that? Did you guys plan this?' Like, he's the man.
Vernon is an integral part of JRE. He had an integral part to play in the worldwide fame of the Joe Rogan Experience. Even when Rogan and the guest go on to make biased remarks, Vernon fact-checks them. Recently, when Bo Nickal was on the podcast, Rogan and Nickal proceeded to bash Joe Biden for a comment he made. However, Vernon clarified that it was Donald Trump who made the statement. Rogan then awkwardly backtracked on the statement.
