UFC middleweight Joe Pyfer was a recent guest on Joe Rogan Experience. Pyfer made headlines recently with the revelation of breaking Francis Ngannou‘s punching machine record. It was UFC middleweight Sean Brady who brought it to the limelight. However, Pyfer had a sad story to tell Rogan which shocked the UFC commentator.

Recently, Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis had an altercation over Du Plessis’ usage of Strickland’s childhood trauma at a press conference. Strickland was on JRE before he fought Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 where he talked about the abuse. Now, Pyfer also shared a similar story of abuse on JRE and it shocked Rogan. This is what he said.

Once I left home, my parents divorced when I was 15. I testified that I never wanted to see my mom again, and then I left with my dad. So, you know, the other branch of that story is about the abuse. My earliest memory of it was around four and a half to five years old, and it continued until I was 15 years old. Then we left. I went to Pennsylvania with my dad because my mom basically hated my guts. It was such a divided family.

Pyfer did not have a good time with his father as he remarried and had two daughters. Moreover, his father did not work and made his wife work. Pyfer would leave his dad and stay with his friend before he rekindled his relationship with his mother. He did not have a good relationship with his mother, but he respected the hard work she put in for her kids. In addition to Pyfer, she had four girls.

Joe Pyfer will headline UFC Vegas 86 against Jack Hermansson on February 10. Pyfer is undefeated in the UFC in three outings with 2 TKOs and a submission. Pyfer had a tough time getting into the UFC. His first attempt to get into the UFC did not come to fruition. He lost in the 2020 edition of the Contender Series as he broke his arm. However, he came back again in 2022 and earned a UFC contract with a scintillating knockout.
