“It’d be a blessing,” Jorge Masvidal wants a fight with Nick Diaz, says it has been a dream

Jorge Masvidal and Nick Diaz

Jorge Masvidal wants to get back into the octagon and has a few names in mind who he wants to fight. Legendary Nick Diaz tops that list.

Jorge Masvidal has not been in the octagon since his KO loss against Kamaru Usman at UFC 262 and is dying to get back in the octagon. One of Masvidal’s dream fights was to take on Nick Diaz and that superstar is making a comeback at UFC 266. After almost two decades Diaz will be fighting the rematch against another legendary veteran Robbie Lawler. Masvidal is down to fight the Diaz brother after his Lawler fight.

“If Nick looks good and does his job why not me and Nick? I’d love to fight Nick. It’s a classic fight. It’s a fight that I always wanted to do since I was at Strikeforce at 155, he was at 170. I was like, ‘Man, that’s a dude that I’d like to fight.’ Nothing personal, just because of his style, just the way that he leaves it all out there, So if I get a fight with Nick, it’d be a blessing,” said Jorge talking to ESPN’s reporter.

Nick’s comeback has been long due. For almost two years the fighter has been planning to make his comeback. In 2019, he did an interview with ESPN and had already spoken about Masvidal. Jorge has fought Nick’s younger brother Nate Diaz and won the fight via TKO (doctor stoppage). The two stars fought for the BMF belt and Masvidal won the fight.

Here’s what Nick had to say about that fight “As far as I’m concerned is my belt. You fought my baby brother and now I gotta watch him take, you know, a foot to the face? like that was a hard time,” said Diaz. “You wanna talk about baptizing my younger brother? That’s on you, you don’t talk about baptizing my younger brother so you’re already in a f*cking position to fight with me.”

Do you think the fight might happen?
