“The king of Rio” Jose Aldo once again defied all odds to secure a victory over Pedro Munhoz at the co-main event of UFC 265, Aldo looked better than ever and he believes things will only get better from this point onwards.
During his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier inside the octagon, Aldo said, “I’ve been working a lot, I want to be a champion in this division and I’ve been dedicating myself a lot in Brazil and that’s why I’m here tonight. I’m training a lot. I’m training harder, and you can be the next guys are going to see me a lot more aggressive.”
Aldo’s boxing looked incredible in this fight, and he believes it was all due to Navy-sponsored boxing in Brazil, he said, “My hands are going to get quicker and quicker as time goes on. After I lost a fight, I realized I needed to incorporate more things into my repertoire and that’s how I got into Navy-sponsored boxing in Brazil. I feel that’s made better my punches and obviously everything upper. But I’m never going to forget my kicks.”
“It would be great for me to fight with Dillashaw,” Jose Aldo on his next opponent
Aldo is looking comfortable in his new home, the bantamweight division he lost the title fight to Petr Yan and he’s been determined to get it back ever since. From the looks of it, Aldo is right on track, he wants to face the former champion T.J Dillashaw next.
“It would be great for me to fight with Dillashaw, hopefully by December,” he said. “I think it’d be a great fight and that’s what we expect. That’s what I’m expecting right now.”
Dillashaw also returned to the octagon after a two-year lay-off and he took on the number one contender Cory Sandhagen in his previous fight, TJ won that fight via split decision and a matchup between him and Aldo would be a great one.
