“Don’t bite off more than you can chew,” Kayla Harrison warns Julianna Pena to exercise caution, says she can beat her with one arm
Kayla Harrison and Julianna Pena
The UFC women’s Bantamweight champion, Julianna Pena produced one of the biggest upsets in the UFC Title Fights history by defeating the former UFC two-division women champion, Amanda Nunes, and taking her Bantamweight title at the co-main event of UFC 269.
This was the final pay-per-view of this year and the reaction of the MMA fraternity, witnessing Amanda Nunes losing her title is filled with shock. The PFL women’s Lightweight champion and Nunes’ training partner, Kayla Harrison were also present on the ringside at UFC 269.
Talking about Amanda Nunes’ loss in her latest video with TMZ Sports, Kayla Harrison says, “I was heartbroken obviously for my teammate and my friend, as I have a lot of respect for Amanda Nunes and I’ve helped her train, we’re teammates and I consider her friend. I felt heartbroken for her, I still if they fought ten times out of them, nine times Amanda starches her.”
“But sometimes it’s just not your night, no matter what you do, no matter how you prepare, how good you feel, sometimes things just don’t go in your way and that’s the craziness of this sport and that’s the brutality of this.”
Kayla Harrison claims Julianna Pena’s trash talk to her makes no sense
Julianna Pena was on cloud nine after her win against Nunes and in a recent interview when she was asked about a probable fight against Kayla Harrison, she commented that Harrison is not more than a training partner for Nunes, which is the main reason she fights in B Leagues.
Talking about this trash talk of the UFC women Bantamweight champion, Harrison replies, “I would like to congrats Julianna for her victory and I know she must be on cloud nine right now and I just want to caution her to be careful because you don’t say stuff like that to people like me. This isn’t like Conor McGregor, that just talk a little sh*t and don’t bite off more than you can chew.”
“I have a lot of respect for her, she executed a great game plan but I’m not lesser than anybody because when it comes to fighting you should be careful when you say. I think this is a little dumb too as she fights at 135 and I’m fighting at 155 right now. So unless you’re willing to back it up, don’t say stuff like that.”
