Khabib Nurmagomedov is working on expanding his promotion to Eagle FC on US soil in January 2021. His promotion has been a real success in Russian, and now he is making some big moves with his company.

He recently signed the former UFC’s lightweight title contender Kevin Lee and showed interest in signing former heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos, and former interim lightweight champ Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier.

Khabib is not known for supporting female mixed martial artists, and he even went on to claim that ring girls are practically useless. He received a lot of criticism for the same, some of the female athletes like Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko even called him out for being disrespectful towards these hard-working ladies.

Khabib, however, stood by his words, and now he is once again making headlines for claiming that he isn’t planning on signing any female fighters with his promotion anytime soon.

Khabib introduced a new 165 pounds division in his promotion, and one of the reporters asked him about the women’s division. Khabib started off by commenting on Julianna Pena’s victory against Amanda Nunes, he said, “I am like, we can watch what Julianna Pena did with Amanda Nunes. But Julianna Pena, she’s not like greatness or something like that. She just beat Amanda Nunes like.”

He then states that there aren’t enough good female fighters in the world, and none of them are competing in the Eagle FC anytime soon, “We can watch and not many good fighters all around the world. There are only like five or six of them. And so we will wait and see,” Khabib concluded.
