Khamzat Chimaev threatens Colby Covington
Nobody is safe from the “Borz” Khamzat Chimaev. Not even welterweight contender Colby Covington apparently as the rising superstar puts out of threat to the “Chaos”.
The superstar Khamzat Chimaev is on a call-out spree and his wish list is getting out of hand. The fighter has damn near called out everyone on the roster in the very little time he has been in the UFC. From calling out former two-division champion Daniel Cormier to wanting to fight UFC Hall-of-Famer Georges St Pierre, Chimaev has called out everyone.
A very recent addition to his “hit list” is the recent welterweight title contender Colby Covington. The fighter from Chechnya has already mentioned the name of Covington in the past but this time, “Borz” has a very violent call-out. Chimaev wrote in his recent tweet, “Let’s go fight b*tch fight with me Colby. I will take your [heart].”
The chances of getting a fight with Colby are very low for Chimaev as the top-ranked 170lb fighter is angling for a fight against his nemesis Jorge Masvidal. But with Khamzat, you never know. The boogeyman will step in as a replacement even on the last day and might turn out to be an upset for the opponent in the octagon.
Khamzat Chimaev is coming for Colby Covington
If taking Colby’s heart out wasn’t a decent call-out, Khamzat had to follow up with two other threatening tweets to make sure he was clear. Chimaev is coming off an electrifying win against Li Jingliang at UFC 267. The fighter is now targeting a fight against Colby. In a follow-up tweet, Colby wrote, “Call the cops I’m coming for you,” mentioning Colby in the tweet.
Chimaev went a step further with his call-out and attacked Colby’s personality of being America’s champ. Covington takes pride in being a “true American” and has always represented his country on the biggest stage. Chimaev is coming for the spot of “Face of America” in MMA. “You do not represent USA I represent USA you represent cowardice,” wrote Chimaev.
