Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are going forward with their upcoming boxing match later this year. The matchup has caused serious controversy and much heated criticism all across the internet. One of the early protestors of the bout, Michael Bisping, went on a rant calling out Jake Paul. Here is what happened:
Michael Bisping recently took to his YouTube channel to criticize Jake Paul for his upcoming fight against Mike Tyson. The UFC veteran labeled Paul a “pathetic individual” and a “fake.” The criticism stems from the significant age gap between the 26-year-old Paul and the nearly 60-year-old Tyson.
You are a joke. You are a disgrace to the combat world. You’re an imposter, you’re a wannabe. You’re a fake. Challenge yourself, you pathetic man, you pathetic individual. Fighting is about challenging yourself. Granted, business. Killing it in that regard. But don’t give me this fighter bullsh*t. That’s what gets on my nerves.Michae Bisping on his YouTube channel
Bisping argued that real fighters seek meaningful challenges rather than what he sees as a one-sided cash grab. He condemned Paul for boasting about fighting someone well past their prime while marketing the bout as a serious test of his boxing skills.
The Brit referred to his younger self as an example noting that a true competitor would reject a fight against an aging opponent and instead seek someone in their prime. He also highlighted how Paul has been more focused on generating revenue than proving himself as a legitimate fighter. Despite the massive payday expected from the fight, Bisping dismissed Paul’s attempts to position the match as a serious challenge, labeling it a “farce” and calling Paul an “imposter” in the combat sports world.
Mike Tyson is ‘very prepared’ to knock out Jake Paul
Jake Paul and Mike Tyson recently held a press conference at the Fanatics Fest in New York City. The tension was high as they promoted their upcoming fight scheduled for this November. During the event, Jake Paul confidently claimed he would defeat Tyson, even mocking his age and predicting a knockout.
Tyson did not hold back, warning Paul to stay in shape because the fight would be grueling. This rescheduled bout was initially planned for July. However, the fight was delayed due to Tyson’s recent health concerns. The boxing legend addressed this at the press conference.
I'm very prepared to knock out Jake Paul. I'm very prepared. I had a small adversity. I got sick, but I feel good. I'm just ready, I'm just ready. I'm going to do my talk and I'm going to talk my s***, but I'm ready to fight.Mike Tyson at a recent press conference at Fanatics Fest
Tyson has promised a long and painful night for Paul. He stated that once he catches him, the fight would be over, and Paul would “run like a thief.” At the time of the fight, the two boxers would have a massive thirty-one-year-old age difference. It will be interesting to see how this bout goes in the boxing ring.
