Jose Aldo

Former WEC-UFC featherweight champion and the only 2-time featherweight champion in UFC, Jose Aldo, has officially bid farewell to the sport of MMA with his exit from the UFC. Multiple sources have confirmed this. Aldo makes this a sudden move but is yet to release an official statement on his Instagram or any other social media. The news was initially a rumour starting from late August due to a word of mouth from Aldo’s last UFC opponent, Merab Dvalishvili, who revealed that Aldo sort of told him in their last fight at UFC 278.

Aldo had one fight left in his last UFC contract and fans wanted to see The King Of Rio fight in a UFC event on January 2023, which will mark the organization’s return to Brazil after 3 years. His legacy is one to be cherished by many. Aldo left Manaus, the place where he was born in Brazil, to come to Rio de Janeiro with nothing in hand except for his clothes to come train in MMA and achieve something. Sure he did, better under the guidance of his head coach André Pederneiras from Nova Uniao training centre.
