Derrick Lewis, known as “The Black Beast,” is currently grappling with a medical issue confirmed by the promotion. Notably, this concern is unrelated to the common struggles fighters face with weight cuts. Typically, when UFC fighters withdraw from a matchup, it is often due to weight-related problems or injuries ahead of the fight week. However, in a surprising twist, this was not the case for Lewis.

Originally, the Black Beast was scheduled to face the formidable Alexandr Romanov in the UFC Edmonton fight card. Lewis had a non-weight cutting-related medical issue.
The fight card now includes a total of 13 bouts. Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement regarding the specific medical issue Lewis is facing. As of now, the match between Ariane Da Silva and Jasmine Jasudavicius has officially been moved to the main card.
Additionally, the featured prelim will showcase an exciting matchup between Aiemann Zahabi and Pedro Munhoz. This sets the stage for what promises to be a thrilling night of fights, headlined by Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi.
When Derrick Lewis withdrew from the main event fight of UFC Vegas 65

Months later, the promotion rescheduled the canceled fight between Lewis and Spivac for UFC Vegas 68. However, fan-favorite Lewis lost that fight, as Spivac finished him in the first round. It’s important to note that the matchup between Lewis and Spivac was indeed rescheduled. This has reignited hopes that Lewis’s recent canceled bout against Diniz might also be rescheduled.
