“Man steroids’ the answer”- Brandon Moreno makes an “edgy joke” about his tremendous shape before UFC 270

Brandon Moreno, in an interview with MMA fighting’s Mike Heck, just let USADA know that the steroids are the reason for his conditioning ahead of his first title defense against Deiveson Figueiredo. Though he was just having a light movement with Heck.

Moreno, when asked to share the secret behind his shredded shape, jokingly replied, “Steroids, the answer”. Moreno, quickly realized this little joke could cause him troubles with USADA and they wouldn’t appreciate the response, cleared the air and told USADA to not bother him and he is just having some fun.

Brandon Moreno talks his mindset as a champion

Brandon Moreno has fought Deiveson Figueiredo twice before but in those two matches, he entered the octagon as a challenger. When asked how is he preparing himself mentally now that he is walking into the octagon as a champion, Moreno said, “I was thinking about it and everything is the same. I have a fight and somebody’s trying to kill me and I need to defend my title and that’s it.” That’s the only difference that I am defending something.”

Moreno stated that the belt has not changed him as a fighter, and he would have the same approach for this fight as he had for the last two fights, he added, “But this is the same thing I will go to the octagon with some guy who is trying to beat me, who is trying to get food off of my family. So I was trying to be very very focused and just be the champion for the cameras, the media, and all that stuff but for me, I’m just trying to be Brandon Moreno and be the same guy and trying very very hard every single day as always.”
