Michael Chandler teases Conor McGregor fight in 2022, Notorious response will surprise you
Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler in a photoshopped image
MMA Legend Chael Sonnen once advised the young fighters on his Youtube channel “Be the boss, even after a loss,” and seems like UFC Lightweight Michael Chandler is right on that path for his clever callout of former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.
Chandler is coming off a loss to fellow UFC Lightweight Justin Gaethje via unanimous decision at UFC 268 last Saturday at Madison Square Garden, in what many have called one of the greatest fights in the lightweight division and a definite fight of the year contender for 2021.
In just 3 UFC fights: Chandler knocked out Dan Hooker in his debut, was almost close to finishing the current UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira for the belt and has now delivered a historic fight to be remembered for the ages. Whether you accept it or not, but Chandler was the fighter the UFC always needed to put on a show after show.
Michael Chandler targeting fight with former champ Conor McGregor for 2022
Michael Chandler went to Twitter to post a photoshopped image of him facing Conor McGregor with the caption “2022” Chandler for now will be on a medical suspension depending on the commission for the amount of damage he took in his last fight with Gaethje. McGregor too responded in his own way.
McGregor is right now on a layoff, recovering from the shin bone that was broken in his last fight, a trilogy with UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier which cost him a loss at UFC 264. Since then McGregor has been in all kinds of news. He was seen attempting to attack rapper Machine Gun Kelly at an award show and has been charged with physical assault by Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti.
As of recently, McGregor has announced to be a part of a wheelchair boxing event for charity purposes which will at least get him back to some action. McGregor has already returned back to training in martial arts and hence it won’t be surprising to see him in the UFC octagon by next year.
What do you think of this matchup between “Iron” and the “Notorious”? Both the fighters are powerhouse in their fighting style and hence have that one-punch knockout power to get the fight in their favour no matter the situation. Both of them will be coming off a loss. Both of them are former world champions and both the fighters have put on a show whenever they get inside the octagon. Seems like the closest competitive fight you can think of.
