UFC bantamweight fighter Chito Vera is eyeing a fight against the top five contenders for his next outing. The veteran believes he could be the champion by the end of 2022.
Chito Vera is a veteran of the sport and one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC’s bantamweight division. The fighter has been in the UFC for almost 8 years and is looking at 2022 as the year he could actually make the bantamweight belt his. In his recent tweets, Chito revealed his interests for this year and called out the promotion to match him up with a top contender.
“I want to fight minimum 3 times this year. I want my next fight to be a top five. I can feel that my time to be champion is coming,” wrote Chito in his tweet. Marlon Vera is currently ranked #8 in the bantamweight division. The weightclass is currently stacked and he has some interesting opponents in the ranking spots above him.

“I’m ready,” writes Chito Vera in his tweet to the UFC
After his tweet that expressed his interest to fight at least three times this year and a matchup against the top five ranked fighters, Chito mentioned the UFC handle in his follow-up tweet saying that he is ready to take on the big guns in his upcoming fights. “I’m ready when you are dear @ufc,” wrote Chito Vera.
Vera is coming off a highlight-reel knockout win against former champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 268. The fighter is currently on a two-fight winning streak. Marlon’s last loss was against UFC legend Jose Aldo in 2020. Marlon has some interesting matchups on the table. The fans are eager to see the veteran fight rising bantamweight Sean O’Malley in a much-anticipated rematch.
Meanwhile, Said Nurmagomedov, another rising bantamweight is eyeing a fight against Marlon Vera and has called out the veteran after his exciting win at UFC 270. Whom do you want Chito Vera matched up for his next fight?
