“Nate’s fight means something to me,” Dustin Poirier will fight Nate Diaz under any conditions

Dustin Poirier is excited to fight Nate Diaz
Dustin Poirier is more than excited to fight his former rival, Nate Diaz. As the super-fight comes close to reality every day, “The Diamond” shares his thoughts on what this fight means to him after falling short for gold in the lightweight division.
The fans are in for a treat given this fight gets to finally see the light. All the stars are aligned for Dustin Poirier to take on UFC’s fan-favorite Nate Diaz in an exciting fight. The fighter from Louisiana is coming off a defeat against the champion of the lightweight division, Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 but Poirier has other options in mind for his future in the promotion.
In a recent AMA session hosted by Megan Olivi on behalf of Crypto.com, Dustin was kind enough to answer the most asked questions from the fans. If you’re fighting the Diaz brother, it is a given that you move to his weightclass rather him cutting down weight. But Poirier has no problems in moving to the 170-lb division.
“I’ve done it before you know. I have moved up before in the midst of the unknown and the uncertain,” said Dustin talking to Megan Olivi. “I can still make 55. I can still make the cut. Do I want to make it five more times to get another title shot? I don’t know where I am at with that,” said Dustin if he wants to put in all the grind for another title shot in the 155-lb division.

Dustin is not sure about having to put in all the hard work for another shot at the title. Poirier has challenged the lightweight belt twice and has lost both times in a span of two years. The Diamond believes his future lies in the 170-lb division. “If Nate does get a deal done with the UFC, that’s the fight we’ve been supposed to do. I think the fans would be in for a treat. That’s something I want to do. I just want to fight fights that mean something to me and Nate’s fight, that means something to me,” said Poirier.
Nate is on the final fight of his contract. The fighter is also very invested in fighting his former rival, Dustin. A lot of the recent Twitter conversations between Nate and Dustin suggest that the fight is very close to being booked. Dustin also showered praise to the Diaz brothers in his talk with Megan.
“I watched the guy on The Ultimate fighter when I was a kid and he’s a guy. He and his brother both, I respect their fighting style. Whenever they fight, I’m tuning in,” said Dustin. Who do you think wins the fight between Dustin and Nate?
