Cormier in an interview with Helen Yee Sports discussed his opinions regarding the fight between Diaz and Poirer. The UFC legend expressed that Diaz has been making moves and Poirer has shown interest in him. Both the fighters have started trash talking to each other so there is a huge chance of this fight happening. “A lot of times when there is smoke there’s some fire too,” said DC.

According to Cormier, both the fighters are suitable for the fight as both share similar name value, popularity, stardom and also prefer fighting in a standing position.
