Conor McGregor is the richest MMA fighter in the world and has built his business empire all by himself. As a businessman, McGregor is well respected given his different kinds of investments.

However, it seems like the fighter’s restaurant business isn’t going how he expected it to. In 2021, McGregor bought a pub in Dublin that he named The Black Forge Inn, and he invested about $2 million. However, a fresh report claims that the pub is still going through growing pains based on the most recent financial records.

The Black Forge Inn reported losses of 1.13 million euros, or around $1.8 million, following the pub’s difficulties in its first year of operation as a result of the worldwide pandemic. Since the business collaboration began, McGregor’s bar has lost more than $2 million overall, according to financial data obtained by The Independent in Ireland.

The report also suggested that a 70-year-old barber shop next to the pub was forced to close after the rent hiked three times the normal, up to $1500. Vincent Roche, the barbershop owner who took over after his father passed away in 2014, was informed that he would need to leave the property in three months if the company decided not to continue with the tenancy at a higher cost. By the end of September, the barbers had closed.

Since then, the city has seen horrifying scenes of windows being broken, police cars being set on fire, and looting. Following unverified online allegations that the individual responsible for the stabbing was a foreign national, up to 500 thugs have gathered in far-right demonstrations.

Throughout the riots, UFC fighter Conor McGregor has been outspoken on social media and has been a harsh critic of the Irish government’s response. According to The Irish Mirror, McGregor is currently under investigation by the Irish police, also known as Gardaí, for allegedly inciting hate. This comes after an examination of the fighter’s social media posts.
